Some reports indicate that between 20 and 30 million men, women, and children are held in bondage worldwide-60,OOO in the United States. Of those sold across borders each year, 80 % are female and 50% are children under 18 years of age. Even though slavery is outlawed in almost every country,it still exists in 161 nations. In the book of Joel CH. 3, God sent an emphatic message to the nations that enslaved His people. God expressed utter disdain of all slavery, but especially of the youth. God said the day would come when He would punish people who traded boys and girls for sex and wine. God would punish those who violate the rights of innocent people and He will establish a righteous environment. So those who take advantage of others and think they are getting away with it ought to rethink their evil deeds. Someone has said, the wheels of God’s justice may grind slowly, but they grind exceedingly fine. God has decreed that people must give account for every idle word and deed. Only those who turn from evil and accept by faith God’s Son Jesus can avoid His eternal wrath.
