Some weather scientists say the earth is warming; they predict that unless we change our ways, in coming years, we will have terrible living conditions. Others say the unusual weather is no more than a cycle; they predict it will eventually go away. Predicting the weather is one thing, but trusting God’s Word is another, especially when the Bible speaks about the future. Some people are skeptical that Jesus Christ will return to earth again. But while we do not know when He will come, we trust the Bible that says it will happen. Here are the Apostle Peter’s words from 2 Peter 3:8 [KJV], “Beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night.” We believe God guided his apostles in what they wrote, so we take Peter’s predictions seriously. Wise people prepare for His return by accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior and by living to please Him.
