Dr. Moussa Coulibaly is a native of Burkina Faso in West Africa. He came to study in America. After earning a doctorate he returned home to help his people. In 15 short years, he has established 6 elementary schools, 3 high schools, 16 churches, 2 Bible institutes, a home for widows and orphans, and extended small loans to 500 women to start businesses. Plus, he plants trees to conserve land and distributes food and medicine to the needy. He is just one example of how since the Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost in Jerusalem, God empowers his people to make a difference in our world. We know from Acts Ch. 2 that on the Day of Pentecost the Apostle Peter declared that based on Jesus’ sacrificial death and resurrection, God was initiating a new way to empower people. God’s Holy Spirit now indwells and empowers all who trust in Him. Before Pentecost, God’s Spirit enabled people to perform specific tasks. Since Pentecost, God now lives inside of any and every person who repents of their sins and accepts Jesus as Savior. As we submit to God’s Spirit within us, He enables us to use our abilities to fulfill God’s perfect purpose for us.
