Our ears help us hear sounds distinctly. Having an ear on each side of the head allows us to hear sounds from all directions. The way ears work help us appreciate the value of prayer. Our ability to pick up sounds from all directions illustrate how our Heavenly Father can hear our prayers from wherever we call on Him. Furthermore, prayer allows us to have a two-way conversation with God. God speaks to us through creation, His Word, His Spirit, or through specially chosen people like pastors or Bible teachers. We then can speak to God through prayer. To teach us how to transmit our requests more effectively Jesus said this, found in Luke chapter 11, “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” Jesus wants us to know we can come to our Heavenly Father at any time, any place, and anywhere. So we should constantly draw near Him through Christ our Lord to find help in our times of need.
