Here are just a few of 49 ways somebody said we can show love to others: Smile at everyone; give away your time; be a peacemaker; apologize for doing wrong; call someone; invite someone over to your house; talk with a senior citizen; visit somebody in a hospital or nursing home; bake a cake for someone; fill up a needy person’s car with gas; say “I love you” more often. When Jesus was about to send out His disciples to proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom, He said this to them, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields. Now go, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves. Don’t take any money with you, nor a traveler’s bag, nor an extra pair of sandals. And don’t stop to greet anyone on the road… Heal the sick, and tell them, ‘The Kingdom of God is near you now.’” Jesus stressed that taking the message was urgent and that they should let nothing hinder them. He also told them to heal the sick. In that day, healing would be an excellent way to show their love for people. When we show people that we care about them and their situation, we open the door to present the message of the Gospel. That is how Jesus did it, and since we are His followers, we should do as He did.
