Reports say some schools in several states have changed students’ grades to make them look good. In some cases, they do it to make the school look good, in other cases they want to make the students look good. Either way, they are cheating and cheaters always lose. Of course, cheating is not new. Long ago, Rebekah did it to help her son—and she thought to help God. Her husband Isaac believed he was about to die, so in keeping with the custom of the day, he was about to give his blessing to his older son, Esau. Rebekah overheard the plan, and recalling God’s word to her that Jacob should get the blessing, she decided to deceive her husband so Jacob would get Isaac’s best blessing. She prepared a deceptive meal and directed Jacob to wear deceptive clothes—all to deceive her husband who had poor eyesight—that Jacob was his older son, Esau. It seemed to work. Isaac blessed Jacob above Esau. But that scheme resulted in Jacob having to run for his life to escape his brother’s wrath. Her deception and favoritism of one son over the other had this result: She never saw her son Jacob alive again. She died before he returned. Cheating may seem to pay, but never does. It is why the Bible is so clear in Galatians 6:7: “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”

Hi, I learn about your ministry through Moody radio in Chicago. God bless you and your ministry. Continue on in Jesus’ name.
It’s so easy to condemn school districts for “cheating”–inflating test scores, etc. However, let’s look at the REAL issues and problems that precipitate the “cheating:
1. Only in the United States are students’ test scores used to determine which districts receive funding and which teachers and administrators KEEP THEIR JOBS! This is so UNFAIR, because the typical American student is LAZY, UNCIVILIZED and TOO UNDISCIPLINED TO BENEFIT FROM THE EDUCATION BEING OFFERED HER/HIM.
No teacher can compensate for:
A. LAZY OR ABSENT OR INADEQUATE PARENTING;
B. POVERTY, LACK OF NUTRITION AND POOR LIVING CONDITIONS;
C. SEXUAL OR PHYSICAL ABUSE OR NEGLECT;
D. STUDENTS WHO WILL NOT COOPERATE, WILL NOT DO THEIR CLASS WORK, WILL
NOT STUDY OR DO ANY WORK OUTSIDE OF CLASS, INCLUDING ASSIGNED HOMEWORK;
E. LACK OF RESOURCES FACED BY SCHOOL DISTRICTS, including:
1. Lack of teachers, personnel and support staff;
2. Lack of trained counselors to help/assist the vast number of students with
birth defects, behavioral issues and/or emotional/psychological problems;
3. Outdated, dangerous and woefully inadequate BUILDING FACILITIES in need
of expansion or repair.
4. Lack of TEXTBOOKS or other materials–including CURRICULUM GUIDES–to teach
the subjects required;
5. Low salaries and inadequate compensation for teachers, who often must expend
THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS for certification courses, seminars, continuing education
requirements, etc.
2. Students and staff are NOT PROTECTED from DISRUPTIVE AND VIOLENT STUDENTS
who are NEVER EXPELLED from public school districts, due to appeasing parents who insist upon their heathen/heathenette’s “right to be educated”–AT THE EXPENSE OF ALL THE
GOOD STUDENTS WHOSE OWN EDUCATION IS NEGLECTED, BECAUSE THESE JUNIOR TYRANTS ARE ALLOWED TO CONTINUALLY DISRUPT THAT EDUCATION.
Oh yes, and let’s not forget the fact that the TEST SCORES OF SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS and NEW LEARNERS OF ENGLISH are thrown into the total “score” of the
district–even though this DEFIES LOGIC and AUTOMATICALLY LOWERS THE TEST SCORE AVERAGE OF THE DISTRICT.
This is why “cheating” by school districts is but a symptom of the REAL DISEASE faced
by American teachers and students!
