According to Brookings Research, news sources today are so unreliable many people don’t know what to believe. They often jump to conclusions based on incomplete information. But when it comes to eternal truth, while God does not give us all the why’s and how’s of His plans,  He does give us solid truth to keep us from being led astray—that is, if we are willing to trust what He has revealed. Years ago, God decided to destroy the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah because of their wickedness. God told Abraham in advance what He was about to do. We read in Genesis 18, “the Lord told Abraham, ‘I have heard a great outcry from Sodom and Gomorrah, because their sin is so flagrant. I am going down to see if their actions are as wicked as I have heard. If not, I want to know.’” Of course, God is all-knowing, so why does He tell Abraham He is going to see if the reports are accurate? I believe God tells him so both Abraham and we will know that when God judges, He is acting with justice. So even though we do not know all God is planning, we can know that God always acts with love and wisdom. His actions are always consistent with His perfect holy character.
