Jeremy Myers’ mission is to help Christians grow in their spiritual life. He comments on Jesus’ words found in Luke chapter 6. Jesus says, “A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.” Based on Jesus’ words, Myers asks the following questions: When you talk to others, does your conversation talk negatively about other people? Do you complain and bemoan all your problems and struggles about things you don’t have and the things you wish you had, revealing a heart that lacks contentment? Do you talk down to others and make biting remarks, revealing a heart of anger? Do you use foul language, lewd comments, and off-color jokes, revealing a heart of lust? Is your talk all about the next toy you want to buy, or your next vacation, revealing a heart of greed? When you pray, is it all about you, your health needs, your financial needs, your problems, your worries, you, you, you, revealing a heart that is self-centered?” By listening to our own words, we may discover some heart problems that only God’s Spirit can help us fix.
