Reports say Christians in parts of India are ostracized and even driven from their villages because of their faith in Christ. In one town, 10 Christian families were told not to worship there anymore. This left them threatened and insecure. We’re fortunate that our constitution guarantees us the free exercise of religion. Still, since we also have freedom of speech, some who do not share our faith may criticize us for our belief in Jesus Christ. To deal with rejection some Christians just go along to get along. Yet the Bible is clear that Jesus Christ wants us to represent Him wherever we are. This may take various forms, including being an example of His character and engaging in loving deeds. At times we can speak out on behalf of justice and righteousness; we can tell others about God’s offer to forgive and restore them to himself when they repent of their sins and ask Him. The Bible urges us to keep our focus on Jesus the Christ and express God’s love in many ways.
