Yogi Berra once said, “It’s tough to make predictions, especially about the future.” Clearly, he assumed predictions could be made about the past. Long ago, an expert said the world would never need more than 5 computers. Another said radio had no future. A third said people would never shop online or expect next day delivery. Yet human predictions are one thing, but God’s revelation about the future is another. While here, Jesus told us things He would do in the future. The Apostle Paul wrote about the future for those who belong to Jesus. He wrote in 1 Corinthians CH 15 that all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ and have died will rise again when Christ returns. He said Christ’s resurrection “is the first of a great harvest of all who have died.” He then says, after that event, “The end will come, when he will turn the Kingdom over to God the Father, having destroyed every ruler and authority and power. For Christ must reign until he humbles all his enemies beneath his feet when all things are under his authority.” Since we believe this will happen, we give our loyalty to Jesus Christ today.
