To help restore children who stray experts say: 1) Don’t reject them. 2) Welcome them home. 3) Keep praying, 4) Respect their friends. 5) Take interest in their pursuits. 6) Take them out to eat and dialogue. These are a few tips to help restore prodigal children. But since God is so pure and holy, how does He achieve reconciliation with prodigal sinners? Expecting humans, on their own, to abide by his holy commands proved futile. So God promised to create a new covenant, one in which His Spirit would live inside of us, would teach us His will and supply the power to obey. That way we can enjoy God’s eternal blessings both now and forever. Establishing the New Covenant is why Jesus came to earth. Here’s what our Lord did when he was about to die on the cross, found in Mark Ch 14, “Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take it; this is my body.” “Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it. “This is my blood of the new covenant which is poured out for many.”  God longs to be in close relations with people. Christ Jesus offered His body and blood to provide forgiveness and fellowship with God for all who choose to repent and accept him.
