Here is how Dr. John Lawrence explains the laws of sowing and reaping: He says we may reap the wrong others do to us. We reap the same kind as we sow; we reap in a different season than we sow; we reap more than we sow; we reap in proportion to what we sow; we reap the full harvest of good only if we persevere; we cannot undo last year’s harvest, but we can do something about this year’s harvest. The laws of sowing and reaping are why Jesus urges us to prepare for a fulfilling life today and be ready for the day He returns. We read in Matthew 24:37-39, “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes.” Today, Jesus urges us that since we do not know when He will return to claim his bride or to assume his role as King of the earth, we should get ready now by accepting Him as our Savior and living to please Him each day of our lives.
