An atheist decided to attend church just to please his wife. Once there, he agreed to help at a youth camp. At camp, he was put on the spot and asked to pray publicly. After praying, a little girl began to sob because he mentioned her in praying. He was so surprised that God answered his prayer for the child that he decided to accept Christ, and he later became a minister. We read in Acts chapter 12 that Herod was about to kill Peter for preaching about Jesus. But while he was in prison, the church prayed earnestly that God would intervene to save his life. While the church was praying, Peter knocked at the door and a servant girl named Rhoda came to open it. “When she recognized Peter’s voice, she was so overjoyed that, instead of opening the door, she ran back inside and told everyone, ‘Peter is standing at the door!’ ‘You’re out of your mind!’ they said. When she insisted, they decided, ‘It must be his angel.’ Peter kept knocking. When they finally opened the door and saw him, they were amazed.” Some times God amazes us by how quickly and dramatically He answers our prayers. Other times, God may delay His response to our prayer, and still amazes us with His answer. We must learn to pray, trust, and wait for God to answer as He chooses.
