Diplomatic Ambassadors represent one country to another, either short term or long term. Some not only deliver a message from their government to another but may have authority to make decisions on behalf of their government.  Paul the Apostle cherished the honor of being Christ’s ambassador–because of the message he delivered. In 2 Cor. Ch 5, he talks about the high calling as an emissary for Christ. He recalled his change of attitude about Christ after meeting him. He came to realize there was a huge difference between knowing about Christ and meeting Him personally. To genuinely know Christ is not merely to be reformed, rehabilitated, or reeducated. No, it is to be recreated. It is to be united with Him by means of a new birth that comes from faith in Him. It comes from being reborn into the family of God. When a person accepts Jesus Christ as his or her Savior, a great exchange takes place. Christ takes our sins and gives us his perfect righteousness. Paul says God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we can be made right with God through Christ. And though we are not sinless, we do sin less! And God has given us the privilege and responsibility of sharing this wonderful message of reconciliation with others. We are Christ’s ambassadors. We speak for Him when we invite others to “Come to God!”
