In 2001, terrorists bombed the Twin Towers in New York City killing nearly 3,000 people. That event could only be described as “evil.” Yet even that horrific incident pales when compared to the thousands of men, women, and children that are slaughtered globally by other Satan-inspired evil people. The Bible teaches that the diabolical personality behind all such evil is the devil. The Bible also tells us the day will come when God Almighty will bring the evil activity of Satan to an end. We read these words by the Apostle John in Revelation Ch 20, “Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven with the key to the bottomless pit and a heavy chain in his hand. He seized the dragon–that old serpent, who is the devil, Satan—and bound him in chains for a thousand years.” We also read he will ultimately be cast into a lake of fire to be tormented forever. We are not told when his end will take place, only that it will happen. The language is symbolic, but the meaning is clear. The devil is a loser. That is why we choose to follow Jesus Christ, God’s choice to rule forever and ever.
