One life personal coach has these tips to increase a person’s self-confidence. 1) Do an honest inventory of your strengths and weaknesses. 2) Forget trying to be perfect and challenge yourself to achieve realistic goals. 3) Stop comparing yourself to others and pursue your own passion. 4) Rather than demonizing others, affirm and encourage them. 5) Treat others as you want to be treated. Realize others are not better than you are just as you are not better than they are. People who think they are better than others are only fooling themselves. That was a truth God had to show Peter before he was ready to share God’s message to Cornelius. God used animals let down in a sheet to convey to Peter that Jewish people were not better than Gentiles. Later, as he entered the house of Cornelius, a Gentile, Peter shows he had learned his lesson. We read this in Acts 10, “As Peter entered his home, Cornelius fell at his feet and worshiped him. But Peter pulled him up and said, ‘Stand up! I’m a human being just like yoU!1II Peter had learned what we all should know and practice: We are all created in the image of God and despite our fallen nature we should respect and treat all others with dignity.
