Tony Robbins says to live fulfilled, be grateful for your blessings; stay balanced–don’t let important things fall by the wayside; donate time and money to worthy causes; forgive and forget; persist even when things are hard. I’m persuaded that God endows certain abilities to every person who lives on earth, and as we exercise and enlarge our abilities, we find fulfillment and purpose. While we may stumble upon our purpose, the sure way to know and live it out is by trusting and obeying Almighty God. King David sought to obey God, and despite his failure with Bathsheba, God rewarded his faith and faithfulness by establishing a dynasty for him, a line of kings that culminated with the arrival of the Messiah. We read God’s promise in 1 Chronicles 17:10 “I declare that the LORD will build a house for you—a dynasty of kings!” Jesus arrived as a king in that dynasty. He faithfully relied on and obeyed God the Father. As a result, God appointed him ruler over heaven and earth. God invites each of us to surrender our lives to Him as David and Jesus Christ did, to trust and obey Him so He can fulfill His highest purpose for us through us. In the pursuit of God’s purpose we find true fulfillment for ourselves.
