The wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana reportedly cost as much as $66 million. Thirty-five hundred people watched the wedding locally; another 750 million watched by TV. It was perhaps the most expensive wedding in history. Princess Di’s gown had 10,000 pearls and a 25-foot-long train. The couple married in 1981 but split in 1996, a year before Diana died in that infamous car crash. But how different will be the wedding celebration when God’s Lamb, the Lord Jesus Christ, takes his bride, recorded in Revelation 19:7-8. His bride, the Church, will consist of all who accepted Jesus as their Savior while they lived on earth. That wedding feast will celebrate Christ’s victory over all the forces of evil that have opposed his rule throughout his absence from the earth. The feast will also celebrate the coming relationship His people will enjoy with the Bridegroom in all the ages to come. Of course, some people may dismiss John’s prophecy as fantasy, but many others accept it as totally factual. John says the angel told him, “These are the true words that come from God.” In other words, it is certain to happen! It is far more certain than taking it to the bank!
