One accrediting service says if an entity is serious about success, it honestly assesses itself, has a strategy, engages stakeholders, executes the plan, reviews the results, and makes needed changes. Success requires discipline and constant improving. When it comes to love, Jesus gave us a standard that far exceeds the one society holds. In Matthew Chapter 5 Jesus said, “You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven; for he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Jesus gave us an excellent standard of love, then died to pay for our failure to live up to it; but He sends His Spirit to live in those who accept Him. His Spirit in us enables us to aspire toward excellence in love.
