A recent scientific experiment had an interesting result. When people washed their hands after making a decision, they got rid of any doubts they had about their decision. Jesus offered a better way to dispel doubt about Him. He was speaking to people who had questions about His identity. Some said He was a good man. Others said He was a fraud, deceiving people. Jesus responded by saying He was just a messenger. He said in (John CH 7), “My message is not my own; it comes from God who sent me. Anyone who wants to do the will of God will know whether my teaching is from God or is merely my own. Those who speak for themselves want glory only for themselves, but a person who seeks to honor the one who sent him speaks the truth, not lies.” Jesus declared that anyone who truly wants to please God would recognize Him as God’s Spokesperson. Those who have no desire to please God will use various reasons to justify their rejection of Him. Not only did Jesus claim to be God’s unique Messenger, He performed amazing miracles to back up His claims, and He arose from the dead as a climactic miracle. His resurrection shouts that He is God’s Son. As a result, we can hardly justify ignoring Him. He is God’s distinctive Messenger, Savior, and Lord.
