They often try to excuse their failures. How reassuring it is for God’s people to know He never fails to deliver on His promises. Throughout Old Testament times, God made promises for the benefit of ancient Israel—as well as many for us. Even though ancient Israel often failed, God said He would keep the promises He made by preserving a small group and giving His blessings to them. We read this in Hosea chapter 2, “I will make you my wife forever, showing you righteousness and justice, unfailing love and compassion. I will be faithful to you and make you mine, and you will finally know me as the LORD.” We also see a hint in Hosea—and explicit indications elsewhere—that God offers full salvation to all who place their faith in Jesus Christ, God’s Son. “For God loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” No one is excluded from God’s offer of love. .
