Smart phones can do some amazing things. Not only can you use them to speak to people and read your e-mail, you can also bank money, pay bills, watch videos, and read books. And experts say a lot more electronic ideas are coming. Yet none of these apps can match what God has done for us in the unseen spiritual realm. Consider the way God created humans. God gave us a physical body. With it, we can see, hear, smell, taste, and touch in this physical world. But God also gave us a spirit that parallels the functions of our physical makeup. Our spirits can also see, hear, smell, taste, and touch spiritual realities. Despite theories to the contrary, the Bible teaches that long ago, God created us to live here on the earth. God foresaw our rebellion against Him and had a plan to rectify it. God sent His Son, and by His death Jesus paid our sin debt and purchased for us eternal life. Then God sent His Holy Spirit to live inside of those who accept Him. God calls us to present His plan of salvation to the entire world. In Ephesians chapter 1, the Apostle Paul prays that we who have trusted Christ would see more clearly how amazing God’s salvation plan is. It’s far more amazing than a smart phone can ever be.
