Hoping that scientists one day discover a cure for death, some people are having their bodies frozen. They hope to unthaw and live again. But they overlook the cause of death. The Bible teaches that sin is why we die, and without a remedy for sin, there can be no cure for death. God has revealed in the Bible the only cure for sin and death. The Apostle Paul explains it in his letter to the Romans. In chapter six we read, “The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Paul also explains how we can escape death and gain this free gift of life. In chapter 3, he writes, “We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned, we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God freely and graciously declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood.” So even if scientists find a way to revive people who die, the problem of sin would remain. Only God has the solution for death—it is repentance of our sins and faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.
