The combined wealth of Sam Walton’s family is more than $150 billion. And as much as we admire the Walton’s business genius, the truth is none of them will take that money with them when they die. As the saying goes a U-Haul never follows a hearse to the cemetery. We all know that everyone dies, and the Bible tells us that after dying, we will come back to life again. The Apostle Peter assures those who today repent of their sins and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior, they will have an eternal inheritance reserved for them. Here is how he explains it 1 Peter 1, “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance – an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.” Now the sober truth is this: we must accept God’s amazing offer before we die; otherwise we rise again to face God’s judgment and a destiny of eternal death.
