Knowing what is fact or fake nowadays is not always easy
One Journalism Institute asked 8700 people what news source they trusted. Of a list of 28 sources, most picked the Economist. Another survey said The Associated Press. A third of the survey chose Public Broadcasting. We struggle to discern fact from fake news. But our most reliable source of truth is God and God’s Word. God has all knowledge. He created the universe and everything in it. He knows all, sees all, and is the most reliable source of truth. When He speaks, all creation should listen. We read in Luke Chapter 9 that on the Mount of Transfiguration, in the presence of Moses, Elijah, and three of Jesus disciples, God spoke of Jesus to say, “This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him.” Here not only did God confirm Jesus as His Son and the Messiah, in so doing, He declared Him to be the highest authority or most reliable truth source. Like no other, Jesus taught us the origin, purpose, and destiny of all humans. Jesus is God’s designated Spokesperson. His perfect sacrifice is the only one God accepts. He is God’s appointed Ruler over heaven and earth. Of all the voices in the world today, we must listen to Him.
