But what does it take the run the universe? We know from Isaiah’s description of the Messiah that He will possess wisdom, power, compassion, and peace-making skills. We also know the Messiah came to give us God’s perfect truth, to atone for our sins, and to serve as God’s appointed Ruler. As a result of his perfect obedience in fulfilling God’s purpose for Him, God raised him from the dead to declare that Jesus is fully qualified to serve as Ruler over the entire universe. As a result, we read in Revelation (Chapter 5) that God’s angel would say to John, “Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne, has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals.” So even though many rulers have exercised various levels of authority all through history, none compares to Jesus Christ. God has declared Him only qualified to rule over heaven and earth.
