Even though historians differ on whom they think are the most influential people in history, most include some if not all the following: Jesus Christ, the Apostle Paul, Muhammad, Thomas Jefferson, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Each of these and many more left an imprint on history. Yet the one Person whose imprint is past, present, and future is Jesus Christ, God’s Son. The Bible teaches that He not only lived in history, taught, and died for the sins of humanity, but He rose again, went to heaven and will return at an undisclosed time. When he comes, He will rule over the entire earth, and all creation will honor Him as the Supreme Ruler in the universe. In Revelation 5, the Apostle John wrote: “Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang: “Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the one sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever.” Until that day comes, Christ’s followers serve as His agents. They share the Good News that God loves us and will forgive all who repent. They promote his Kingdom values of love, kindness, justice, and righteous behavior.
