God spoke to Moses at the burning bush and revealed his name as Yahweh, telling him, “I AM who I AM.” God’s people accept the Almighty God as the Supreme Creator and Sustainer of the entire universe. Our view of God determines our attitude toward Him—whether we believe He is worthy of our worship and obedience. A low view allows us to ignore God’s worth, claim self-sufficiency, or worship alternative gods that can never satisfy us. Here is David’s view of God found in 1 Chronicle chapter 29: “O LORD, the God of our ancestor Israel, may you be praised forever and ever! Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O LORD, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things. Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion, people are made great and given strength. O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name!” King David had an exalted view of God that we all can adopt and affirm.
