Here are some ways we can show gratitude every day. We can record our gratitude in a journal. When possible, express your appreciation in person. Treat everybody with respect and kindness. Smile, be patient, and listen. Avoid constant complaining. These ideas can help us show gratitude toward one another, but also how should we show thankfulness toward God? In Romans Ch 12, the Apostle Paul shows us how to respond correctly to Almighty God for His incomparable gift of salvation. In this important letter, he first highlights why we need God’s salvation. He quotes numerous texts to show how all humanity falls short of God’s perfect righteousness and that we will perish without a suitable remedy. He then describes how God gave His Son to be the perfect gift to atone for our sins. Now all who accept Jesus Christ receive forgiveness of their sins and the gift of God’s Spirit to live within. God’s Spirit enables us to live productively each day even as we fulfill God’s purpose for us. Paul says the proper response to God’s generosity is to give ourselves entirely to God. In this way, we build His church, promote His Kingdom agenda of evangelism, and foster righteous living in our world.
