A real estate agency ad says, “Come, do business with us; we’ve researched the markets, know where the best homes are located and know how to negotiate on your behalf. We have all the expertise to put you into your dream home. We’ve already found what you are looking for.” Of course, they may or may not be able to deliver on all they promise. But there is a Promise Maker who has already delivered on a key promise He made. I’m referring to God Almighty. He promised us a Savior who would enable us to be acceptable to God and give us right standing with himself that will last forever. We read in Romans chapter 10, that faith’s way of getting right with God says, “Don’t say in your heart, ‘Who will go up to heaven?’ (to bring Christ down to earth.) And don’t say, ‘Who will go down to the place of the dead?’ (to bring Christ back to life again.) In fact, it says, ‘The message is very close at hand … If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Paul says God has already provided what we’re all looking for–eternal salvation. He did it by giving us His Son. All we need to do is repent and accept him as our Savior and Lord.
