Inheritance rights vary from country to country and are often very complicated. We are blessed that God has set forth an amazingly wise plan for us to receive the inheritance He has for us. We become united into God’s family by faith in His Son Jesus Christ. Our union with Christ positions us to receive enormous benefits. They include the forgiveness of all our sins. The Apostle Paul tells us this is possible because believers in God’s Son were joined with Him in His death, so He bore the penalty for our sins when He died. We arose with Christ when He arose, so now our union with Him positions us as children to receive all the amazing gifts God has for those who accept His Son. This union also means we are set free from our slavery to violate God’s moral laws. Also, just as Christ had a new body when He arose from the dead, so we in the future will have new bodies that can live forever. In response to God’s amazing gifts, the apostle urges us (in Romans 6) to give ourselves completely to God; to use our total selves to honor Him.
