Pam Morris Walden hosts a Gospel music program in Chicago. She offers hope and inspiration to thousands of listeners each week. Pam came down with a heart problem that almost took her life, but God graciously provided a donor to give her a new heart. That in itself was remarkable, but the greatest impact she is having is not the miracle that keeps her alive; but her passionate testimony of gratitude and praise to God for what He has done for her. Humility and gratitude are two traits God desires in response to His many blessings to us. Not only for material blessings that meet our physical needs, but gratitude for the price He paid when Jesus His Son sacrificed His life for us. He died so we could be forgiven of all our sins, be restored to favor with God, and be recipients of His eternal blessings. We read in Deuteronomy 6 that God told His ancient people never to forget how He delivered them from slavery. Recalling His deliverance was to motivate them to live faithful lives. Recalling God’s abundant blessings to us can help us avoid spiraling away from a vibrant relationship with Him. May we never forget God’s love shown at Calvary, as well as the blessings He bestows upon us day by day.
