A computer uses only two digits—the “1” and the “0” to send “yes” or “no” electronic signals. These two computer digits perform highly complex transactions to give us digital books, Bibles, accounting, movies, robots, and a whole lot more. This simple decision-making process illustrates God’s choice to people. In Deuteronomy Chapter 30 we find these words of God spoken to Moses: “Today I am giving you a choice between life and death, between prosperity and disaster. For I command you this day to love the Lord your God and to keep his commands, decrees, and regulation by walking in his ways. If you do this, you will live and multiply, and the Lord your God will bless you.” “But if your heart turns away and you refuse to listen . . . you will certainly be destroyed.” Moses alerts them that their success will depend upon the choice they make. God offers us a choice today. We can choose to accept and follow His Son, Jesus Christ, and He will forgive us and empower us to live a productive life. Or we can choose to live independent from God. Jesus said those who ignore Him are building their house upon sand without a foundation. The floodwaters will surely come, sweep against the house, and it will collapse into a heap of ruins.
