The Apostle Paul in (1 Cor.Ch. 1) says some people reject the Christian message because it defies human logic–that God became human; that one man’s death could bring eternal life to so many people. Yet Paul asserts that the change that the Good News promises can only be experienced by faith in God’s Son. While some people think the Gospel lacks intelligence, God declares it to be the most intelligent message there is, because it comes from His mind. Paul says, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.” In other words, the message of salvation is foolishness to unbelievers because it only comes by faith–not reason or good deeds. It is why we see in Acts Ch. 4, Peter and John defied a command to stop preaching about Jesus. At a hearing, leaders were amazed at their boldness, viewing them as “ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures.” They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.” In defending themselves the apostles replied, “Do you think God wants us to obey you rather than him?” Jesus revealed his true identity by his perfect life, teaching, and miracles, climaxed by his resurrection. No wonder they chose to obey God rather than man.
