A Kansas man confessed to robbing a bank long after he did it. Once he accepted Christ as his Savior, he confessed and voluntarily repaid his share of the money he took illegally. That incident calls to mind what God said through Ezekiel many years ago. God appointed Ezekiel as a watchman. His job was to turn the wicked toward godly living and to warn the righteous against turning away from God. God said through the prophet (Ch. 18), “If wicked people turn away from all their sins and begin to obey my decrees and do what is just and right, they will surely live and not die. All their past sins will be forgotten, and they will live because of the righteous things that they have done.” Today, God offers to forgive us of any and all the wicked things we have ever done IF—if we turn to him in repentance and accept the forgiveness He provides through His Son. God asked through Ezekiel, “Do you think that I like to see people die? Says the Sovereign LORD. Of course not! I want them to turn from their wicked ways and live.” Today, God’s offers to forgive all our sins and extends to us the gift of never-ending life–beyond the grave. That is an offer no one should pass up.
