Andre Crouch is noted for his Spirit-filled music. It can lift the spirit of the most downhearted. Among his favorite songs are these: “To God Be the Glory, Great Things He Has Done”; “I Don’t Know Why Jesus Loved Me, but I’m Glad He Did”; “Soon and Very Soon We’re Going to See the King”; and “The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power.” But the one I like best is “Through It All.” That last stanza says: “I thank God for the mountains, and I thank Him for the valleys, I thank Him for the storms He brought me through; for if I’d never had a problem, I wouldn’t know that He could solve them, I’d never know what faith in God could do.” “But through it all I’ve learned to trust in Jesus, I’ve learned to trust in God. I’ve learned to depend upon His Word.” Many people of God resonate with that sentiment, including the Apostle Paul. In 2 Thessalonians, he encouraged suffering saints by his confident prayer that God’s love would see them through their difficult times. He prays, “May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.” Paul knew, Andre Crouch knew, and many saints know, that strong faith in the Living Christ can see one through many difficult days.
