A salmon can swim thousands of miles in the ocean and still return to the stream where it was born. Homing pigeons can travel hundreds of miles from home, calculate their position, and find their way back home. Researchers tracked one sea turtle that left Indonesia, migrated 15,000 miles to Oregon, and went back to its nest in Indonesia. Some birds fly eight days without stopping to rest. The way eagles fly is so amazing that engineers study their wings to design aircraft. These are just a few examples that reveal God’s infinite wisdom in creation. It’s no wonder the Bible often calls us to celebrate and worship the God of creation. One place is 1 Chronicles Chapter 16. David invites the entire world to celebrate God’s greatness. “O nations of the world, recognize the Lord; recognize that the Lord is glorious and strong. Give to the Lord the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into his presence. Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor. Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise! Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy! Let the trees of the forest rustle with praise, for the Lord is coming to judge the earth. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.” Today, grateful people worship God for many reasons—His genius in creating and sustaining the universe; His plan to save humanity; and the unfolding of His profound purpose for the world, and for us.
