Geese fly in a V-shape. The V-shape multiplies their energy and helps them fly 70 percent further. When the lead goose gets tired, it falls back, and lets another goose lead. If one goose gets sick, tired, or hurt, two geese will follow it to the ground, help it recover, and protect it until it can fly again. As they fly, the ones in the rear do the honking — they encourage the ones up front. Geese know how to work together. Like geese, people who work in harmony get a lot more done — like God told Moses: Five will chase a 100; and 100 can chase 10,000. The Apostle Paul also knew the value of teamwork. In his letter to the Romans, he listed 26 people who had assisted him in his work for the Lord. He thanked them and praised them for their involvement. He knew that along with his leadership, he needed others to work with him. So he urged teamwork. He wrote in chapter 15, “May God, who gives … patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Whoever said it spoke the truth: We can accomplish much more when we work together — and if don’t care who gets the credit.”
